Years ago we were in elk country, post rut, in an area where big bulls should all be laying low in the rough canyons recovering from the rut and dodging the late rifle season.

We wasted a lot of “national interest war” capital with our questionable wars in Iraq, Syria, Libya, the Arab Spring, and even Afghanistan beyond a punitive expedition.

Iran has been our primary regional enemy (their choice) and the primary regional destabilizer through their regional proxies since 1979.

If we wanted a risky, costly, unpopular Middle East war, they should’ve been first up.
