The issue with people “letting AI do the reading for them” is that a society that does not read is a society that can’t think critically. It can be easily manipulated by authoritarians. When we don’t read we are less informed, more dependent on tech tools, and more compliant.

@nicholaswu12 When I worked at a library, I helped a woman who was trying 2 donate 2 Trump. She had no money but wanted to donate $100 one time. The payment was auto set 2 be recurring & if I hadn’t notified her, she wouldve accidentally been donating $100/mo indefinitely. Really disturbed me

@stan_okl Reminds me of when I was talking to a Spaniard in Spanish and when he learned that I was Latin American and learned my Spanish from there and not Spain he completely dismissed me and lost interest in the conversation. He said I didn’t speak “real” Spanish
