Read widely, deeply, thoughtfully.
Learn to write essays on ideas.
Understand that this industry is yours and the only thing you have. Raise and protect its quality and integrity.
Today, I’m beyond grateful to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and the legendary 2Baba for their contribution to the arts, their blessings on my sophomore, and for leaving my generation multiple standards to aspire to.
Two new Profiles from @OpenCountryMag today:
- of @hakeemeffect, the most decorated makeup artist in Nollywood
- and of @adedayoagarau, poet & curator whose work explores a dark boyhood
They are written by Oluwatobi Adedayo and Iheoma Uzomba, skilled writers who make me proud.

A 12-year-old British-Nigerian boy, Chika Ofili, gained international recognition after discovering a new mathematical rule for testing whether a number is divisible by 7 while studying at Westminster Under School in London. His discovery, which was later supported with algebraic proof, attracted global attention and showcased the power of curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking at a young age. Chika's remarkable achievement continues to inspire young learners to embrace mathematics and believe that age is no barrier to making meaningful contributions to science and education. 👏🏾📚✨
