🚨 Big News: Pypr Has Been
Acquired! 🚨
We’re excited to announce that Pypr has been acquired by Bloomworks! 🎉 This marks a new chapter, and we couldn’t have done it without this amazing community. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
If you ever had a “move back in with your parents” stage, you have no business judging homeless people. The only difference between you and them is you were privileged enough to have a fallback.
Incorporated professionals got hit hard in yesterday's budget.
The biggest impact for many will be the increase in the capital gains inclusion rate for every dollar of capital gains in their corporation.
Let's look at the math to see how bad it is.
Today is a sad day for entrepreneurs in Canada, but more so a sad day for Canada in general. Innovation will inherently slowdown with increased tax. Choosing Canada to build new companies is no longer an option. It’s a gut punch to all those like me who moved home to build.
I’m Gustavo from the future! I took a Time Machine from May 16 where everyone is asking me “How come I didn’t win an @XBIZ Creator Award in Miami?”
I came to the past to remind you to START CAMPAIGNING FOR THE VOTE NOW!!!!
As for lottery numbe… (vanishes)
I just sent the IRS $100k and NYS $20k. Really love that I pay more in taxes than the top 1% of US households, but I still can’t have a merchant bank account 🙄 #decrimnow
At 16, I started selling Nextel phones after school.
That little business generated $5,000 per month.
I leased an office without my parents knowing.
As my business grew, I stopped showing up to school completely.
It wasn’t long before my parents got a call from my guidance counselor. Not only did they find out I had been skipping school, but my cover for the office space was blown.
My parents were concerned, understandably.
Surprisingly, my guidance counselor wasn’t.
“We’re not worried about Bill. He’s going to be just fine,” she said.
After that meeting, I officially dropped out of high school.
My father wasn’t thrilled with my decision to pursue my Nextel extracurriculars instead of my diploma.
But eventually, he became my first investor.
He partnered with me on my first company, and he’s invested in everything I’ve done since.
I learned more from bootstrapping a business as a teen than anything I learned in a classroom:
→ Validate demand before you build
→ Love your customers
→ Treat everyone you work with really well
These values stuck with me through three exits, and now I’m applying them to @HelloLanding.
If I figured out how to scale businesses without a high school diploma, you can do anything.
Nothing will guide you the way your intuition can.
But you need to get started. That’s the key.
Doesn't matter how much money you have, or what part of the industry you're in. @OnlyFans CEO @KeilyBlair lost her bank account following her move from private equity partner to OF CEO.
Banking discrimination is happening at all levels, with no recourse. It has to stop.
No, because I think more children have ‘suffered’ as a result of having unprepared parents or financially struggling parents than they have from having ‘old’ parents.
First world problem but it's actually crazy that if you are a founder who has raised millions for your startup, owns more than 25%, and pays yourself a consistent W2 income, you can't use that income to qualify for a mortgage unless your startup turns a profit.
