🔴Pharmacists
What prevents you from “upskilling” your pharmacy technicians to support pharmacists so they can become more “autonomous” technicians?
⭕️Research suggests that technicians can safely do pharmacists’ jobs, allowing pharmacists more time to have a crack at doctors’ jobs as “ACPs”.
@Johnrashton47 The PA skillset is a subset of the doctor skillset, so the skill mix argument would only work if PAs were a lot cheaper. They aren’t.
As I said, I feel sorry for those who were sold a career that suddenly became non-viable, but that’s the reality of the situation.
This is nothing short of assault perpetuated by idiocracy of the medically unqualified.
A breakdown in communication is an absurd conclusion; it is a systemic breakdown of expertise and knowledge from doctor substitution with PAs and ACPs.
I am left disgusted but unsurprised.
Another horrific case report today courtesy of the associate project
15 yrs of highly competitive selection & continuous assessment cannot be replaced with a 2 year participation award
Anyone continuing to enable this should face fearsome accountability when patients are harmed
PA prescribing sexual assault to a 5year old was not something I thought I'd have the displeasure of reading
Blindly prescribing for PAs is standard practice in GP, as is light touch supervision
Disgusting way to treat the most vulnerable in society
@BDDunbar There are 2 practices
One has a 9:1 GP:PA ratio and use the title "Physician Assistant"
The other is 3 GP partners with no salaried GPs supervising
- 4 PAs
- 6 GP trainees
- 2 medical students
Impossible to know who which one it could be
So you’re telling me that Jason Paige
- singer associated with the original English Pokémon theme song
- publicly known as the voice of the “Pokémon Theme”
- appears at events, conventions, and card shows
- sells/autographs merchandise and Pokémon-related cards
has also been accused of scamming the Pokemon community
- public accusations from the TCG community
- videos and posts pointing to an unfair trade with children
- criticism for allegedly taking advantage of young fans
- debate over whether it was a scam, abuse of trust, or misunderstanding
main controversy
- Jason Paige was at a Collect-A-Con / TCG-style event
- he had a booth / space for autographs and fan interactions
- some children approached him
- a card trade took place
what allegedly happened
- the children had an authentic Gengar card
- the card was described by third parties as valued at ~$150+
- Paige allegedly received that Gengar
- the children allegedly received a card signed by him
- that card was fake / not official as an authentic Pokémon card
- it was allegedly presented as something special
- supposedly as “one of one”
- the community interpreted that the real value was not equivalent
key point
- the children apparently knew the card they received was fake
- but the criticism is that they did not understand the real value of the trade
- the father also seemed not to understand the TCG market well
- they trusted Paige because he was “the Pokémon singer”
So there is a public controversy
And an accusation that he is being pointed at for an abusive trade with children
