Our movement is one of radical optimism.
Not seeing the world just as it is, but how it could be.
Cait Prowle delivers our Sororal Greetings at Labour Party Conference.
🐝 We’ve been pushing for more power and ownership to be put directly into the hands of communities.
Now it’s happening.
Our Interim General Secretary Caitlin Prowle speaks to the Mirror about plans to back community ownership and grow co-op businesses.

NEW: Members of the Co-operative Party have been told that Caitlin Prowle will become interim general secretary
Incumbent Joe Fortune was selected by Labour’s ruling NEC last week to be their GS
Prowle, a former Labour adviser and GMB officer, is the youngest ever Co-op GS at just 28
Very proud that our outstanding @CoopParty General Secretary is to become Labour’s General Secretary.
He’s a wonderful man and I can’t wait to see how he gets on!
Joe Fortune has been appointed as Labour’s next general secretary by a unanimous vote of the NEC (from a shortlist of one)
A source close to Fortune said:
"Joe has a proven record leading and running a political party and is respected across the labour movement for his near two decades of service.
"He will be an fantastic asset to the Labour Party at this crucial moment."
New: Co-Op Party chief Joe Fortune has been appointed Labour Party general secretary after winning the backing of Andy Burnham
Labour's ruling NEC backed him unanimously
New: Joe Fortune is Labour's next general secretary (subject to confirmation at Labour conference)
He was unanimously backed at a meeting of the NEC this afternoon.
Fortune gave a presentation and took questions to NEC members - he was seen as "Burnham's candidates" so the only one to appear in front of the NEC today.
Delighted to be able to get on with the job as Policing Minister.
A huge honour working with extraordinary people.
And a massive job of reform to continue.
Tackling the epidemic of everyday crime, cutting knife crime and making our force fit to face the future.
"Nigel Farage is deliberately trying to avoid public scrutiny, he's acting in the interest of the establishment people that are funding him."
@josephpowell tells @maitlis this is not Trumpian America - Britain is not "so polarised" that people will "ignore blatent corruption".
The questions keep coming for Nigel Farage, his money and who pulls his strings.
There are now four separate lines of inquiry on his finances, properties, and potential conflicts of interest.
At the centre of all this is one simple point: Farage has chosen the interests of secretive billionaires over those of the British people, and he is in their pocket.
Nigel Farage is already under investigation over an undeclared £5 million "gift" from Thailand-based crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne.
Now he's been reported to the Standards Commissioner over claims he lobbied the Bank of England on crypto policy that could benefit his biggest donor.
I've written to Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey about these concerns.

We must advance the Public Office Accountability Bill (Hillsborough Law) and a create a National Oversight Mechanism.
There must be transparency, accountability and justice.
This week there was an important update from the Met Police regarding their investigation into the Grenfell Tower Fire.
I spoke to Rags Martel at ITV about the announcement.
I’m glad that this morning the PM condemned the disgusting comments made by Reform’s housing chief Simon Dudley. He has rightly been sacked.
The Grenfell tower fire was an entirely preventable tragedy that claimed the lives of 72 people.
The lessons that we learn from Grenfell must be the right ones.
This is just sickeningly insensitive.
Not an ounce of decency, compassion or respect for the 72 lives lost and wider community.
But this isn’t a slip-up or a stumble. This is Reform showing us exactly who they are.
