The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India, Bangkok, presented a captivating ‘Odissi Dance Recital’ by Ms. Namrata Mehta from India on 25 June 2026 at the SVCC premises.

Ms. Namrata Mehta is an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and a distinguished recipient of the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Yuva Pratibha Puraskar (2017) and the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar (2025). Through her graceful and expressive performance titled “From Earth to Eternity”, she enthralled the audience with an ‘Odissi’ journey and explored the themes of devotion, surrender, and cosmic harmony. Ms. Anahita Mehta (daughter and disciple of Ms. Namrata Mehta) also presented a piece of performance.

The recital commenced with invocatory prayers offered to the Divine, followed by the blossoming of pure dance. It then portrayed the heartfelt devotion of a poet yearning for union with the Lord and culminated in a mesmerizing exploration of the celestial circle of the zodiac, reflected the profound connection between the human spirit and the cosmos.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, members of the Indian diaspora in Thailand, and around 80 enthusiastic audience members. The performance was met with great appreciation, with the audience who deeply moved by the elegance, spiritual depth, and artistic excellence of the mesmerizing Odissi recital.
