Pune is a growing city.
But no city becomes “developed” when people are bullied into breaking red lights by honking mobs.
The people following rules should not feel stupid.
The people breaking them should not feel fearless.
I shifted from Bangalore to Pune just over a week ago.
In 7 days, one thing has become painfully clear:
Pune does not have a traffic problem.
Pune has a traffic enforcement problem.

@airindia Disappointed. As a Gold member I was denied checkin at the Business Class counter by your staff Swathi R at Hyderabad Airport—despite informing her of my status. Told to use another counter because I’m flying Economy. Not the experience I expect from a loyalty program.
@airindia I am a Maharaja Club gold member who recently got transferred from Vistara. I am traveling from BLR-AMD on 14 November. But on my boarding pass - the tier status is showing Red. Please fix this asap! I have DMed you for the same 20 hours ago!
@amithpr@airindia There are definitely some critical issues Air India needs to fix post-merger. I’m a Gold member flying in two days, but my boarding pass shows ‘Base’ tier. Calling customer care takes ages, and they don’t have any of my details until I confirm my ID number
@amithpr@airindia Amith, Platinum members can get free seat selection—but only if they booked directly through the Air India portal. If you book through other sites, you lose this perk (and the extra baggage allowance too). Vistara never had this restriction, so hoping Air India reconsiders!
@parthsuba77@airindia Glad to see your Gold status continued, Parth! But heads up—some benefits aren’t as seamless as Vistara’s. For example, free seat selection perks only apply if you book directly through Air India’s portal. Booking elsewhere? Those perks don’t carry over.

Free seat selection & extra baggage only apply if booked on the Air India portal. Other bookings? You can't. Why penalize loyal customers for where they book?
Final Thoughts: There’s still time to fix these issues—especially #5—before more loyal members start feeling let down.
2b/ Yet I’m still at Gold because now @airindia says 13,500 Tier Points must be earned on their flights to reach Platinum. This critical condition was never mentioned before.
3/ Customer care: a 5-minute wait time. Vistara rarely had wait times over 30 seconds. It’s a step backward in service.
4/ The executive couldn’t retrieve my #MaharajaClub ID—only my phone number and email. Despite my successful login, backend systems clearly aren’t synced.
2a/ I logged in, excited to see my Platinum Tier status given my 74K+ points. The merger communications assured us that #ClubVistara points would transfer 1:1, and the tier status would follow accordingly.
60 Minutes into the @airindia & @airvistara merger, and I’m already disappointed. Here’s why:
1/ The portal was promised to be live at 0200hrs but wasn’t accessible until 0207hrs. Not a huge delay, but it didn’t start well.
