alexandr wang looks like the product of a generations-long effort by some far-future bene gesserit clan to re-derive the modal attendee of a selective high school in sydney in the year 2018 from first principles.
@paradoxic_l they almost certainly are not factoring in your minor rune for the assessment of their health bar.
It becomes about what you prefer. Do you want them to be lower earlier, to deny them opportunities or scare them, or lower later to lull them into a false sense of security?
@paradoxic_l Example: if I’m playing poke against a heavy engage, we both know what we want to do. I want to stay safe by poking them down to the point where they feel they can’t engage. Cut down lets me “cheat” this. I can poke them down to that point easier, making me safer.
learnt how to make a ship in a bottle using Claude. actually very helpful. also helped me with learning 3D modeling (explaining concepts not making any models for me)
Generative AI has a single purpose, and its entirely economical. There is no end goal in using it for someone who simply wants to make something. Lowering the bar doesn't mean you just have more of X, it just means X overall loses its footing
@zac_gaming__ if u are actually interested on what the rationale was. you can still disagree obviously but the idea isn’t too bad. I still think it won’t land for ap bruisers and will need more work. they probs just didn’t want proto spam at worlds atm
@zac_gaming__ ability haste can be seen as a flat multiplier on output-> better as game goes on. reducing it -> worse scaling. +5% ap compensatory buff
higher base damage on active -> incentivise going in and stronger early
these match the ap bruiser power curve a lot better
This is the culture that produced the sword in the stone. It doesn’t matter how much you’ve practiced, how much you’ve trained, how hard you’ve worked. You’re either meant to pull the sword or you aren’t. Neo isn’t “the one” because he studied to be.
@Switch_boards@Sweltercrochet Yeah they are super archaic now. Back in the day when meta changes were once a year there were 3 years where one supp was always Lucio or mercy, annd generally lead comms and the other was always Ana or Zen. Then an Ana and Zen meta happened and everything fell apart.
@schwarzposter_ while something like Silksong or Dark Souls might have something to say about the world and communicates it through gameplay, a game like league or overwatch chooses situations and puts you in them (I want to feel like a sniper, I want to feel like the underdog etc)
@schwarzposter_ if we are talking purely about gameplay experience as art, with no story involved, then the closest to art is probably some of the character designs in multiplayer games like overwatch and league of legends. they do an incredible job of giving you a specific, curated experience.
An easy way to understand this is to consider the statement:
“The ground being wet implies it rained last night”
The ground being wet did not make it rain last night.
@loiddaep@RiotPhroxzon - seraphine has on demand hard cc
- seraphine can shield and heal her teammates
- seraphine used to scale much harder than viktor with a much more uninteractive lane
Issue with seraphine is that her core player base isn’t interested in that playstyle.
@ca_tscratch@HommyAG True: the average opponent of a masters player is slightly worse than them.
This applies to masters viktors. So their winrate is slightly boosted.
But this means that for every other player, when they see a viktor, they will probably be better than them! hence game avg
