@lamps_apple It truly is scary. The propaganda is so extreme and thorough. I suspect it all relates to the media that they are constantly exposed to and consume.

Talking politics with Democrats makes me deeply sad. Some days it makes me physically sick.

These are people I once looked up to. My friends. My family. Yet the moment Trump comes up, they start reciting the same propaganda, word for word, with wild eyes, foam at the corners of the mouth, and a rage they cannot control.

A destructive ideology has taken over their minds. Facts stopped mattering. Evidence stopped mattering. I can lay undeniable proof in front of them. I can show them the person who invented the claim admitting he fabricated it. Nothing changes.

That is what frightens me most. I am surrounded by people radicalized by events that never happened and words that were never spoken, clinging to lies even after the truth is placed directly in front of them.

At some point this stops being politics and becomes a condition.

I cannot tell the difference between what I am watching and a psychotic break... the delusions, the certainty, the immunity to correction.

Scientists and psychologists should be studying it as one.
