Tesla와 SpaceX가 텍사스에 반도체 공장 Terafab을 짓는다고 한다. 초기 투자만 168억 달러, 설계에서 패키징까지 제 손으로 만든 칩을 Optimus와 Cybercab, 우주 데이터센터에 넣겠다는 것이다.

해자가 깊어지는 것은 맞다.
다만 같은 168억 달러라도 치르는 방법에 따라 주주의 몫은 달라진다.

쌓아 둔 현금으로 치르면 가뜩이나 2분기에 11억 달러 적자였던 잉여현금흐름이 더 마르고, 빚이라면 이자가 붙고, 증자라면 내 지분이 얇아진다.

기존 250억 달러 Capex 가이던스 안의 돈이면 계획의 재배치이고, 밖의 돈이면 새로 얹히는 짐이다.
회사는 아직 어느 쪽인지 말하지 않았다.

SPCX는 9억 주가 넘는 보호예수가 풀렸는데도 주가가 6% 올랐다. 다행한 일이나, 앞으로 12월 8일까지 전체의 40%가 마저 풀린다.
그래서 나는 3가지를 지켜보기로 했다.

내부자들이 실제로 얼마나 팔았는지 알려 줄 매도 공시, 해제일마다 거래량이 불어나도 주가의 저점이 높아지는지, 그리고 첫날의 상승이 숏커버링의 반짝임이었는지 실수요의 매수였는지.
이 신호들이 같은 방향을 가리키면 그때 물량 걱정을 내려놓아도 늦지 않다.

두 회사에 비전은 넘친다.
아직 흐린 것은 돈이 돌아오는 시점, ROIC의 가시성이다. 나는 서두르지 않고 그 계산서를 기다린다.
