Last night at the BET Awards in Los Angeles, Tems delivered a thrilling rendition of “What you need.”

But Bow Wow and Rosci Diaz’ quiz on Maduka Okoye shared the spotlight in LA, after they asked Tems if she would shoot her shot at the Nigerian goalie.

Tems immediately brother zoned Maduka, saying in Nigeria they are friends, brothers, families, so they don’t shoot shots.

Somehow, her response triggered a lot of persons who thought she was unnecessarily rude. While others thought the question from Diaz was unnecessary and had a coloring of Olodo.

Maduka Okoye has been trending in the United States for over 3 weeks, since the Portugal vs. Nigeria friendly match.

Although no Nigerian won any of their nominated categories, Tems still made her mark later that evening.

She not only performed her hit song What You Need, but also joined Tierra Whack for a special performance of the Fugees’ classic Fu-Gee-La in honour of legendary American singer and rapper Lauryn Hill.
