What if Maurice really did say $10? HC's unreliability makes us doubt everything he says... maybe Maurice was right and HC misheard #zapfv

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

meaning of "catcher in the rye" deals with innocence, childhood. HC lost his childhood bc of Allie death, will protect kids innocence #zapfv

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

@amytranfvhs I think Holden hates phonies because they conform and hence are fake. Holden separates himself from society and so isn't a phony #zapfv

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

@amytranfvhs I think Holden likes Jane because she reminds him of his innocence and childhood before Allie's death #zapfv

A Year of #zapfv https://t.co/Jiuf1W50gi

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

@kennysak1999 He also hates most people and labels them as phonies. He thinks negatively of most people, believing their actions to be fake #zrye2 #zapfv

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

@vikkiienglish I agree about saving the children's innocence. I think it also deals with Holden trying to prevent another James Castle #zrye2 #zapfv

A7: H's words hinder his ability to establish connections. H believes everyone's a phony and chooses not to build friendships. #zapfv #zrye2

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

A6: Holden's unreliability makes us question his narrating. One example is Mr. Antolini - was he a pervert or not? #zapfv #zrye2

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

@tiffanytzapfv I think only Phoebe can tolerate Holden bc he's so annoying.. he seems to enjoy watching children tho lol #zapfv221 #zapfv #booksnaps

[Brian Chu @Brian_Chu13]

HC thinks he's better than so many ppl but he's always lonely. He tries to connect with people but he's too immature #zapfv220 #booksnaps

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

He's unreliable, confirming the idea that not everything he says is true

#zapfv220 #booksnaps #zapfv

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

HC has trouble talking to people bc he thinks he's better than everybody else and that everybody is a moron #zapfv12 #booksnaps #loveenglish

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

HC has trouble talking to people bc he thinks he's better than everybody else and that everybody is a moron #zapfv12 #HC #iloveenglish

@amytranfvhs @Brian_Chu13 I think @Brian_Chu13 means family in the sense that they and the Joads would take care of each others' backs #zapfv

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

@amytranfvhs I think the reason everyone goes separate ways is to demonstrate how the struggles of the farmers could break apart families #zapfv

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

@Brian_Chu13 I think the family would've been better off bc there'd be 2 more working men and Rosaharn wouldn't have to worry as much about baby #zapfv

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

Do you think the Joads would have been better off if they had never left their original home for California? #zapfv #grapesofwrath

[Henry Luong @henry_fvhs]

How do you think the story would have changed if Noah and Connie never left? #zapfv #grapesofwrath
