@Lucywwatson@Lucywwatson Isn't the problem more to do with the fact that easier loans -> higher demand for houses -> higher prices (because supply can't keep up). This hurts first-time buyers rather than helping them. It actually benefits property owners by making their assets more valuable.
If the loans increase demand for housing, but supply can't keep up, then property prices go up. This hurts first-time buyers.
Perhaps the title should be "Budget 2021: Property owners get boost from new loans"
