@JustinTrudeau My 23rd year of thanks to the people of Canada, Newfoundland, & St. Johns for holding us close on 9/11 and showing us the best of mankind in the midst of the worst of mankind. I am forever grateful. Thank you for being the best neighbor any country could have.
@fred_guttenberg My town participates in the nationwide "Flag of Honor Program" and I have the honor of reading your brother's name this morning. He will be remembered as will all the others who lost their lives as a result of 9-11.
@BeschlossDC Was returning to Dulles from Belgium when the pilot announced, "Ladies & Gentlemen, we will be making an emergency landing in St. John's [Newfoundland, Canada]." U. S. airspace is closed." I was 1 of 2 people on the flight who instantly knew it was beyond horrible news.
@JustinTrudeau I was one of the very few people who witnessed the very best of humanity on that dark day. Aboard one of the 1st planes downed in St. John's, Newfoundland, we were wrapped in comfort & love for six days. I will always remember & am forever grateful. Thank you Canada.
@CAFinUS We landed in St. Johns, Newfoundland and made it to D. C. six days later. The people of St. Johns, Newfoundland and Canada have my eternal thanks for wrapping their arms around us.
@Heather59261733@JustinTrudeau For 20 years the first thing I do every 9/11 is send an email of thanks to those who comforted us in Newfoundland on that horrific day. I'll never forget.
@BeschlossDC To my astonishment I found this nearly pristine cabinet card from 1865 tucked in the old tintype photo album of my great-grandmother (b. 1855) . . . probably belonged to her mother. It's a treasure.
@rcdobe13@SecRaimondo Gail was one of the brightest lights when we worked together at the DNC. While I think of her - and other colleagues - often, not a Christmas goes by without thinking of Gail and expecting her card in the mail. She was one of life's keepers - I hold her close in my heart.
