Over its lifetime, The Interview ended up making over 52 Million Dollars, over 40 million of which were digital making it Sony's best digital release ever

On November 24th, 2014, The employees at Sony Pictures started receiving messages from a group that called themselves "Guardians of Peace", who threatened Sony to scrap the release of The Interview, or face the consequences 😳.

So, Sony decides to give in and scrap the release of The Interview.

This grabs international media attention. It was labelled an attack on the Freedom of Expression.

The hype grew even more when cybersecurity firms linked the attacks to North Korea.
