Got back to a manuscript I've avoided for months because the editor's and reviewer 2's comments were so harsh. And you know what? They're even meaner than I remember.
Don't be like that. There's no need, and it slows science down when it makes ppl take time to lick our wounds
Fantastic @CScienceEditors webinar today on the Holden Memo. @dylan_ruediger ended his presentation w/ the question of whether the new data sharing policies will “create a box to check or a framework for maximizing reuse of data.” Great question that could use its own webinar.
“When behavior change requires culture change, it is essential to consider the structural features of the culture and how they enable and constrain individuals to behave according to their intentions and values.”
Advancing open science across the research ecosystem remains challenging for a variety of reasons. “Toward Open Science: Contributing to Research Culture Change” proposes ideas for change: https://t.co/YfCnylGT2V

English is not your native language? Check out the DeepL translator (https://t.co/g4blWADZcP) @DeepLcom. In conjunction with @Grammarly, even the free version, your writing should already look pretty good. [4/13]

1/ I'd like to highlight some recent digital projects and scholarship that engage with the concept of #ArchivalSilences and purposefully center it in their thinking.

One of my favorite @scholarlykitchn pieces of all time. @FrontResMetrics is actually accepting submissions for a Research Topic on the same subject w/ Katharina Ruckstuhl & @CamilleCallison as topic editors: https://t.co/LrW4lG0cae
This story is incredible! @colleenhoover began writing for fun as an adult, self-published several books, and has now sold more copies than John Grisham and James Patterson combined.
I spent time with Colleen Hoover and her fans this summer, and wrote about her incredible rise -- from self-publishing her first romance novel a decade ago, to selling nearly 9 million print copies of her books this year. Here's a free link to the story https://t.co/kvZ4bOyubZ
The Center for #OpenScience, with funding from Flu Lab, is recruiting post-graduate and early-career influenza, #PublicHealth, and #epidemiology researchers to promote open science within their communities. https://t.co/KkGhC0ZK0V
@kaitlynmwerner We discuss 👇how the "novelty strategy" may reduce individual researchers’ and societal gains from research. Validation/replication is also key for evidence-based knowledge.

Disagreeing with a claim is one thing but invalidating everything an Indigenous scholar says because of this disagreement is no different from the hubris of the West's invalidation of the knowledge production of the Rest of the world. Critique for critique's sake is reactionary.
“Silverchair is a mature software company w/ long-term contracts that provides mission critical infrastructure in a market that is less volatile than many others” fantastic point that makes me wonder why more investors aren’t interested in schol comm acquisitions?
Silverchair takes on a major investor. The central tension in OA publishing leads to the resignation of 4 editors. A new framework for author experience (AX). And the new OSTP policy continues to dominate the conversation in scholarly publishing.
