BREAKING NEWS: Rush County officials tell us a 2-year-old was flown to Indianapolis last night after flood waters trapped her in the basement of her home.

Emergency services were called, but could not immediately get to the little girl. A farmer used a tractor to transport EMS to her and the home.

The little girl's mom and another daughter used CPR to revive her. We have not gotten an update on her condition.

This morning we are live with team coverage in Muncie, New Castle and one of the hardest hit areas of Cambridge City. They have gotten up to a foot of rain in 2 days.

All lanes of Interstate 70 westbound are closed near Centerville Road at mile marker 146 as you can see from the photo below... the road buckled in the flooding.
Evacuations are still happening right now.
Schools are closed.

If you are traveling into Northwest Indiana in the next few days, please fill up with gas prior to entering Lake or Porter Counties. Fill up in Illinois if traveling east along I-80/94, Michigan or LaPorte County if traveling west on I-94, and in the Lafayette area if traveling north on I-65 from the Indianapolis area. Due to power outages, the gas stations that are open are very busy and may run out of fuel, both gasoline and diesel, at the current rate of need with generators running.
Also, many secondary roads remain blocked with down wires and trees that will take days to be cleared. - Males have significantly more lean muscle mass.
- On average, men have 30-40% more upper-body strength.
- After puberty, men have up to 20x more testosterone, which leads to greater muscle development, higher power output, & faster strength gains.
- Males have higher bone density, wider shoulders, & typically longer reach.
- Men produce more fast-twitch muscle fibers, which helps with explosive movements
- Males generally have larger hearts & lungs, contributing to higher aerobic capacity.
- Men have, on average, a 10–12% higher hemoglobin concentration, allowing the blood to carry more oxygen during exercise, which is why WNBA games & seasons are shorter than the NBA
- Males typically have a 15–20% higher VO₂ max than similarly trained females, improving endurance performance.
- Men have larger & stronger tendons & ligaments, allowing them to tolerate higher force production.
- Males typically possess larger skeletal frames, including bigger hands and feet, which can improve leverage & force generation in sports.
- Men generally recover quicker between maximal power efforts because of greater absolute muscle mass & anaerobic power.

The Thompson bill is the prominent recent Republican-sponsored measure that directly enables eligible undocumented ag workers to remain in the U.S. and legalize their status via H-2A without first leaving the country.

I'ts “amnesty” characterization is disputed along partisan and policy lines: opponents see it as rewarding illegal presence and hiring; supporters see it as pragmatic legalization of an essential workforce within a temporary guest-worker framework.

It also covers certain aliens who voluntarily departed. The waiver is limited: it applies only to conduct related to obtaining agricultural employment (not, for example, public benefits issues) and requires the worker to otherwise qualify for H-2A status.

Employers can continue employing these workers while their application is pending without violating unlawful employment rules. Employers providing employment records for verification receive protections/immunity from certain civil/criminal liability for prior hiring of the worker (unless records are fraudulent). Workers can transition to H-2A status while remaining in the U.S. (no requirement to leave first in these cases). This provision is what critics (e.g., NumbersUSA and the Immigration Accountability Project) describe as “sweeping amnesty” or amnesty for illegal workers and employers, as it waives bars that would otherwise block legal status and effectively converts many existing undocumented farmworkers into renewable H-2A guest workers.

I just spent a day and a half walking around the IU campus.

Whoever has the contract for food concessions there seems to be hiring nothing but H1B Visa holders.

The gift shops and other stores seem to be staffed by Americans.

This needs to be investigated. IU may not be hiring the entry level food service workers, but it appears their contractors are using H1-B workers.

The contracts between IU and the food vendors should be reviewed.
