If you’ve ever wondered how cells tune positioning of organelles in response to cell shape change, please check out our new manuscript - mRNA trafficking controls cell-size-scaled organelle dynamics! https://t.co/C2zQuispK7
Our first post in 4-years! Very excited to share our work just published in @ScienceMagazine. We find that “Interphase cell morphology defines the mode, symmetry, and outcome of mitosis” – in angiogenesis and other tissues! https://t.co/e79Jcxi7UZ
LAST CHANCE TO APPLY!
If you love zebrafish, RNA, and imaging please apply for our Research Associate vacancy!
Deadline for applications is 4th March.

Perturbation of RNA targeting by genomic excision of localisation elements caused filopodia to depolarise in cultured endothelial cells and, importantly, caused mispatterning of blood vessels in vivo!
Our first RNA localisation publication! Fantastic effort from Guilherme Costa (now group leader @QUBelfast), and @joshjbradbury and Nawseen Tarannum https://t.co/W4sepoGvXz
Hypothesising that these RNAs share a common localisation mechanism, we then used the MS2 system to identify a shared 3’UTR motif that directed localisation to sites of emerging filopodia.
Excited to see that my first, first-author paper with @samgriffjon and @PapalopuluLab is now out! Do you work on dynamically expressed proteins? Probably. Check to see if your favourite transcriptional regulator features in our results.
