@lospopuestos@fccincinnati There was lightning north of the stadium, within the radius for stopping. Just because your friend didn't see it doesnt mean it didn't happen.
@LaurelPfahler For me, minimum hour drive after work (probably longer on a Friday night), $30 ticket + $40 parking + something for dinner on the way or at the stadium, and seeing Burnley isn’t really something that makes me want to spend the time and money.
@KylePagan_@Mortylemur Even in the drought, they won three Olympic Golds and made the semifinals of all those cups. And they came back from 2023 by winning Olympic Gold again the next year. No other country has made a WC final more than twice, and the ones that make 2 did it in back to back cups.
@Peter_Bukowski Until recently, most countries treated women's soccer as an afterthought. Even now, only a few clubs outside of the US regularly draw large crowds. Meanwhile, Title IX forced investment in women's sports here. As others have invested, they've started to catch up to the US.
@MarvaKreel It's to avoid putting games in outdoor stadiums during the hottest times of the day. And as mentioned, having 4-5 different time zones obviously plays a part too.
@superbigjoe007@RGonzalezCBS 1930 (first World Cup). Still no knockout wins in 1930 though. Won the group, went straight to the semis, and were beaten by Argentina. Only knockout win was 2002 vs Mexico.
@ClevelandHoodie@MLS 3rd place teams couldn’t play today because they may not have known their site until last night.
Games involving groups G-L couldn’t play because they played Fri/Sat.
Other games couldn’t be played because it would be too far apart from their Rof16 opponent’s match.
@shanesmith336@BarelyTrying92@ashkan I think an Australia/New Zealand co-host like they did for the last women’s world cup would be more likely. Even if entire groups played in NZ, at some point they’d have to cross 8-10 time zones and readjust in the middle of the tournament.
@BarelyTrying92@ashkan Unless fifa changes it’s rules, Europe, Africa, and South America will be ineligible because they hosted in 2030, and Asia will be ineligible because they hosted 2034. Oceania doesn’t have enough to host on its own, so that only leaves concacaf nations.
@MarsProximaCenB@AwakenWithJP If you’re going to make up fake news, you should try inventing something that can’t be disproven in inder 10 seconds using Google.
@SarahisCensored Out of curiosity, I did a test where I asked it that question and specified a particular version. It started with that same verse each time. Two errored and two didn’t. So it definitely seems to be something with the particular wording of that verse.
@ward_tamara1@lpky You mean the bill that came with spending cuts? spending cuts that the MAGAswamp couldn’t wait to get rid of as soon as they got control of Congress?
