@canada_spends It would be good to see an analysis on where the increase is going towards. From an initial scan it looks like $22 billion of that is towards the marginal rate tax cut and $18 billion is more towards defense spending. Hoping the CPC reveals their costed platform next.

@glen_mcgregor This is a tough one, Canada has no viable air force left with the current fleet of planes pretty much done in the next 5 years. The Europeans don't have a comparable 5th gen fighter in production and they are further ahead on F35 adoption. Better bet is to use as bargaining chip

@MarcGarneau The probability of it actually happening increases if Canada moves away from using defense spending as a jobs and industrial support program. Allies in South Korea, UK, France, Japan etc typically have hardware designs and experience ready now and its cheaper for taxpayers.
