This is an important part of being a faithful follower of Christ, as we are all quick to think that, “I got this!”
It’s about thinking ourself to be firm (safe; okay) in the Love of God and in the knowledge of His Truth. Regarding ourself as secure(safe) and therefore rely(depend) on our own strength.
The enemy loves when we do. At such times, the evil one will tempt us to look to our own ideas and directions instead of God’s. Then we slip into pride(we can do our life ourselves), and the Scriptures make it very clear that our Father literally “hates” pride.
Remember to say a prayer when you wake-up and before you go to sleep, if it’s just the Lord’s Prayer/Our Father, or simply: Jesus Christ have mercy on me. Stay connected with the Kingdom whether you feel like it or not. God’s richest blessings on every one of you! Amen #JesusLovesYou #selfpride #orthodoxchurchinamerica

Shortly before his death, the monk Father Theoklitos Dionysiatis visited him.
Tell me, Father Paisios, how do you feel now, on the eve of the great journey to heaven?
What can I tell you, Father Theoklit? I never danced, but now, if I could, I would dance and sing: “Farewell, wretched world!”
This was his serenity, peace, and joy before death, despite all the diseases and the heavy breathing that constantly brought him discomfort.
We too saw this same peaceful state when we visited him together with the igumen of the monastery of St. Arsenius, Archimandrite Theoklit, and Archimandrite Ignatius.
He was bedridden, experiencing pain, and nearing death. But with a smile and with God's peace that surpasses all understanding, he perceived both us and the coming death—which for him was not death, but life and a transition from sorrow to the joy of the Kingdom of God.

Human reason has been corrupted since the fall of man; therefore, it must be submitted to faith and revelation and thus raised up to a higher level.
— Saint Seraphim Rose
No matter the denomination, Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, all of us: "Thou shalt not kill" (Exodus 20:13). It's in every catechism, every tradition, the sixth commandment we all share. I know the reply: the Hebrew is closer to "murder," and every tradition has allowed killing in genuine, last-resort defense of the innocent.
But not one of our traditions has ever permitted the shedding of innocent blood, and not one permits calling it God's glory while you do it. A war that kills children and the oldest Christians on earth, announced with a psalm and blessed as divine providence. That doesn't pass any Church's test for just killing. It fails all of them.
It's the one commandment we all confess, set against a war being sanctified in God's name. That's the ground I think every Christian should be standing on. #IranWar
"No one and nothing can take Christ out of our hearts. If you have received Communion even once in your life, He remains there.
For the Holy Bread which came down from Heaven - that is, Christ - gives life to those who partake of Him; and whoever eats of this Bread will live forever.
And this Blood, when received worthily, drives out the demons and removes them far from us, while calling to us the angels and the Master of the angels.
For when they see the Most Pure Blood, the demons flee, and the angels hasten to help us.”
St. Cyril of Alexandria
PRAYER LXXV

Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not curse them.
Enemies have driven me into Your embrace more than friends have. Friends have bound me to earth, enemies have loosed me from earth and have demolished all my aspirations in the world.
Enemies have made me a stranger in worldly realms and an extraneous inhabitant of the world. Just as a hunted animal finds safer shelter than an unhunted animal, so have I, persecuted by enemies, found the safest sanctuary, having ensconced myself beneath Your tabernacle, where neither friends nor enemies can slay my soul.
Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not curse them. They, rather than I, have confessed my sins before the world. They have flagellated me, whenever I have hesitated to flagellate myself. They have tormented me, whenever I have tried to flee torments. They have scolded me, whenever I have flattered myself. They have spat upon me, whenever I have filled myself with arrogance.
Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not curse them. Whenever I have made myself wise, they have called me foolish. Whenever I have made myself mighty, they have mocked me as though I were a dwarf. Whenever I have wanted to lead people, they have shoved me into the background. Whenever I have rushed to enrich myself, they have prevented me with an iron hand. Whenever I thought that I would sleep peacefully, they have wakened me from sleep. Whenever I have tried to build a home for a long and tranquil life, they have demolished it and driven me out. Truly, enemies have cut me loose from the world and have stretched out my hands to the hem of Your garment.
Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not curse them. Bless them and multiply them; multiply them and make them even more bitterly against me—so that my fleeing to You may have no return; so that all hope in men may be scattered like cobwebs; so that absolute serenity may begin to reign in my soul; so that my heart may become the grave of my two evils twins: arrogance and anger; so that I might amass all my treasure in heaven; ah, so that I may for once be freed from self-deception, which has entangled me in the dreadful web of illusory life.
Enemies have taught me to know—what hardly anyone knows—that a person has no enemies in the world except himself. One hates his enemies only when he fails to realize that they are not enemies, but cruel friends.
It is truly difficult for me to say who has done me more good and who has done me more evil in the world: friends or enemies. Therefore bless, O Lord, both my friends and my enemies. A slave curses enemies, for he does not understand. But a son blesses them, for he understands. For a son knows that his enemies cannot touch his life. Therefore he freely steps among them and prays to God for them.
Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not curse them.
A favorite criticism by #protestants towards #Orthodoxy is that we pray to “idols.” Actually, we readily acknowledge that icons are wood and paint (unless made of something else). Ever had something going on and you say to your friends, “y’all pray for me, please!” If one believes in eternal life as a “saved soul,” then the deceased #Orthodoxsaints are living and can “put in a good word” word for us since they’re closer to the actual Kingdom of God than we, the living are! God’s richest blessings upon you all! #orthodoxchristianity #GospelofJesusChrist
So many decades of my Protestantism the idea that we are each born guilty of Adam and Eve’s sin (the first sin, hence the term “original sin”), and that salvation in Protestant teaching is that one needs to be rid of this “original sin.” Of course, we are guilty of many sins besides that of the first humans created and placed on earth(the “garden”), but their’s started the ball rolling.
Somewhere along the mental roads of this little man’s life travels, it hit me that, wait-a-minute, “you mean to tell me that every precious and Innocent newborn exits the birth canal blemished by sin?”
NOT born as “innocent?” Loaded with an ancient sin of the first man and woman before even opening its eyes for the first time?
Orthoxdoxy teaches(Lord forgive this little servant if I err) that we are Not born guilty of Adam and Eve’s sin, but certainly inherit the propensity (inclination) to sin. And, of course, dealing with our sins if we wish to follow Jesus the Christ, is a requirement, and thanks to The Father’s Loving Grace is available to all. #originalsin #forgivenessheals #adamandeve #bookofgenesis #jesustiktok
