Effects of bacterial elements (i.e. endotoxin) can lead to cytokine activation resulting in systemic vasodilation (hypotension), myocardial pump and multiorgan failure with FEVER. Remember that this looks different then low output shock (hypovolemic and cardiogenic shock) which first presents with vasoconstriction+ cool, pale extremities
