🚨 INTERPOL operation leads to 95 arrests across 17 countries over child sexual abuse material

Authorities executed 127 search warrants during four coordinated operations conducted across Latin America and Europe between March and September 2026.

The investigations targeted messaging groups used to distribute and sell child sexual abuse material, groom children, coordinate abuse and receive cryptocurrency payments.

One five-year-old child was rescued in Colombia. Police arrested the child’s parent, who is accused of producing and selling the abusive material online.
⠀
Other findings included:

• More than 4,000 files and 15GB of abusive material discovered in Ecuador
• Administrator of a 700-member distribution group arrested in Panama
• Suspect in Argentina accused of sextorting more than 260 girls across multiple countries

Approximately 89% of the suspects arrested were male and 11% were female. INTERPOL said the seized material could lead to additional victims and offenders being identified.

Participating countries included Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Italy, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Spain and Uruguay.

🚨 95 arrests across 17 countries in operation targeting the distribution of child sexual abuse material

The arrests have come as part of parallel law enforcement operations in Latin America and Europe, each targeting a different aspect of the dissemination and commercialization of child sexual abuse content through messaging applications and cryptocurrencies.

These platforms are increasingly used to groom children, coordinate abuse, connect offenders and receive payment for illegal content. They also enable the recirculation of abuse content, resulting in continued revictimization of children.

The INTERPOL-coordinated initiative led to the execution of 127 search warrants and the rescue of one child. Material seized during the investigation is expected to lead to further identifications of offenders and children at risk, as well as additional safeguarding action.

Liberado detector de marcas de IA SynthID. Lo hemos probado y funciona bien. Incluso indica con qué herramienta se ha generado y que puede habrrse editado "a mano" después. Uno de los grandes problemas que le vemos a su uso masivo en cloud es que para comprobar si es IA o no, se pueden acabar subiendo imágenes de personas reales a la propia plataforma sin su consentimiento.
