If you're a streamer who reacts to Gameoverse for content on release and you still haven't beaten my Mario Maker 2 world your chat should bully you about it until you do. That's my price of admission, sorry.
I wish Disney was done with AI. I wish more people would find value in the process of making things, than sprinting for an end result. I wish for a lot.
People are posting the headlines with links to stories about “Disney Stops AI Deal with Sora” and assume Disney is done with AI.
But they aren’t.
In every article I’ve seen people respond to, saying “Disney is done with AI, that’s a W” the actual article contradicts this:
Disney isn’t finished with AI - just with Sora. Probably because Sora is being closed down. Disney explicitly says they’ll continue to look into AI for stuff.
(What gets me though, is each story I’ve seen pulls this quote, and yet people responding to the article respond to the headline alone. It doesn’t take too long into the article to find that quote either.)
@actionhankbeard It’s weird, I know that’s a very strong way to start a drawing, but when I do it I end up with very samey, bloby shapes. If I do likes and go big shapes to details though, stuff ends up more dynamic (but takes longer).
@egoraptor But also, like…does it even matter in the end to a player? I’m sure for any one of us we have preferences on what constitutes a good remake, and dev intent may not be a factor. And the originals will always exist out there, by many different means, so we can always go back.
@egoraptor Like I get all of it is done to make money, by large companies who distribute these things, but an original idea vs a remake is a tough topic to tackle. Is the remake done with care or cynicism? To do something new bc the team has some ideas, or bc the pub needs more cash?
