@tylerjschoon well i for one never believed in the signing from the beginning. and everyone bashed me for saying it. if he’s a backup fine, but he was gifted a starting position. zero competition. the way this has been handled should get Hortiz fired.
how did we not sign two good guards like an Elgton Jenkins and Seumalo? i just don’t get it. Slater / Jenkins / JS or TB / Seumalo / Alt would’ve and then Strange, Taylor, Awosika, etc as backups should’ve been the play. resigning pipkins and penning was lighting $ on fire.
not sure how the takeaway from yesterday is anything but this IOL looks concerning and if it truly is bad during the season, Hortiz should be fired on the spot. Literally everyone told the guy to sign decent guards and he just fucking refused. He better prove people wrong.
I will say resigning Pipkins was such a fucking joke by Hortiz. Still can’t believe we didn’t get at least one good FA guard either. That is where Fehoko has some points. Where is the $$$ being spent, draft capital sure, but we signed dogshit guards. Mike McD better save the day.
@BreidenFehoko agree but not to that extent. They believe in drafting/developing later round guys + Mike McD played a big factor in their approach to the guard room. We will see within the first 3-4 games how the IOL will fare. Slater needs to be healthy, otherwise we’re in big trouble
Chargers center Tyler Biadasz is out indefinitely after suffering damage to his ACL and additional injuries to his left knee during Tuesday’s joint practice against the 49ers, per @rapsheet and me.
Biadasz will meet with more doctors to try to get more clarity.
