Who is Jeff Cavins?

Jeff Cavins , grew up in a Catholic family and even entered seminary as a young man with intentions of becoming a priest. However, he left the seminary, drifted from the Church, and eventually became a Protestant (Evangelical/nondenominational) pastor for about 12 years.

During his time as a Protestant pastor, he dove deeply into Bible study, partly to better understand and defend his Protestant beliefs. Through that intense Scripture study, along with reading the early Church Fathers and exploring salvation history, he came to realize that the early Christian Church (as described in the New Testament and the first centuries),
aligned more closely with Catholic teachings and structure than with Protestant ones. This included elements like the Eucharist, apostolic authority, and Church hierarchy. In 1986, convinced by Scripture and historical evidence (not emotion or external pressure), he returned to the Catholic Church under the guidance of Bishop Paul Dudley.

Today , Cavins is one of the most prominent Catholic Bible teachers in the English-speaking world. He's best known for creating The Great Adventure Catholic Bible Study program (published by Ascension Press), which uses a color-coded timeline to make the Bible's "big picture" accessible and engaging for everyday Catholics.
He's hosted shows on EWTN, appeared on podcasts like The Journey Home and The Catholic Talk Show, written books, leads pilgrimages,
and runs The Jeff Cavins Show podcast focused on Scripture and faith tips.
