Dr. Keith Jerome and his team at Fred Hutch are among the leading researchers pursuing a potential cure for HSV through gene editing.
Their goal isn't just to control outbreaks it's to target the latent virus hidden inside nerve cells. While this research is still in the preclinical stage and not yet available for patients, the progress so far offers real hope for the future.
To everyone living with HSV: you're not forgotten. Science is moving forward, one step at a time. 💙

ATTENTION EVERYONE IN MEMPHIS TENNESSEE
Tamboli's Pasta & Pizza REFUSED to serve four members of the Tennessee National Guard.
This is the owner, Miles Tamboli.
Would be a shame if everyone in the area knew they kicked out US servicemembers!
Depression doesn’t affect just your mood -- the disorder can change your brain. One study found that people who were depressed for more than a decade had about 30% more brain inflammation. https://t.co/Cbddsj8JEF

People having heart attacks have far more microplastics in their blood.
A recent study found micro- and nanoplastics in 84% of heart attack patients, versus 40% of patients with stable coronary disease and 32% of healthy controls.
The plastics were often accompanied by higher inflammation, including IL-6 and TNF-alpha, and were more common in people exposed to higher air pollution and smoking.
We still don’t know whether microplastics are contributing to heart attacks, but this association is very alarming to me.

If a loved one says, "I can hear you, I just can't understand you," don't assume it's just hearing loss.
Difficulty following conversations may be caused by hearing changes, earwax buildup, or medication side effects.

🚨 Vaccine Research Update.
Evaxion has unveiled new preclinical data for its AI-designed cytomegalovirus (CMV) vaccine candidate, EVX-V1, at the International Herpesvirus Workshop 2026.
The vaccine combines AI-discovered T-cell epitopes with novel and AI-optimized B-cell antigens to attack CMV from multiple angles. In mouse studies, the new data showed improved control of acute infection, viral latency, and reactivation, while previous results also demonstrated reduced viral infection and stronger virus neutralization.
Although these findings are still preclinical and far from human approval, they highlight how AI-driven vaccine design may help develop more effective vaccines against persistent herpesviruses like CMV a virus that can cause serious disease in newborns and immunocompromised people.
Every advance in herpesvirus research helps expand our understanding and may accelerate innovation across the field

People living with HIV remain at a significantly higher risk of developing shingles (herpes zoster), even in the era of effective antiretroviral therapy. While modern HIV treatment has greatly reduced this risk, it has not eliminated it especially for those with lower CD4 counts or uncontrolled HIV. Early diagnosis, consistent HIV treatment, and vaccination when recommended are key to reducing complications such as long-lasting nerve pain and eye disease. This highlights the importance of ongoing preventive care for people living with HIV. #HIV #Shingles #HerpesZoster

Just to clarify: the recent Fred Hutch Evergreen Fund announcement is NOT about Dr. Keith Jerome's HSV gene-editing research.
It is a different HSV project, led by a different research team, focused on an antibody-based therapy.
Dr. Keith Jerome and his team continue their separate work on gene editing as a potential cure for HSV. It's encouraging to see multiple scientific approaches being explored at the same time.

To reduce the risk of Ebola importation into the United States, CDC, under Title 42, and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), under Title 49, are currently working together on a DO NOT BOARD (DNB) process with regard to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
American citizens who are departing from the DRC may be subject to a DO NOT BOARD (DNB) order. Americans are able to return to the United States 21 days after leaving the DRC.

In 1986, There Were Only 3 Vaccines...DTaP, MMR & Polio. They Were So Harmful That The Manufacturers Faced Bankruptcy Because of Vaccine Injury Lawsuits.
The U.S. Congress... Instead Of Forcing Vaccine Makers To Make A Safe Product, They Chose To Give Full Immunity For Those 3 & All Future Vaccines.
There Are Now 72-96 Doses Of Vaccines On The Childhood Vaccination Schedule & 13 Vaccines On The Adult Vaccination Schedule Totaling 24 Doses.
With No Liability & Full Legal Immunity, Vaccine Manufacturers Have The Right To Make & Inject You With 100s Of Unsafe & Toxic Ingredients Such As These:
Polysorbate 80
Thimerosal Mercury

The vaccine industry is built on the use of aborted babies organs to produce the vaccines we use today…and they have to replace these lines with current aborted organs.
The most recent harvested human organ for vaccine research is WALVAX-2 which is a harvested lung from a 3 month old unborn baby taken in 2015. This was one baby of 10 in total, in which organs were harvested for research & vaccine development.
⬇️ these are the 'code names' for harvested organs used to make vaccines, their original source & what vaccines they are used in:
HEK-293: Human Embryo Kidney, aborted female; used in development of Ebola & Covid
MRC-5: Human Lung, 14 week old aborted male; used in Polio, Rabies, Chickenpox, Hep A & Shingles
WI-38: Human Lung, 12 week old aborted female; used in Polio, Rabies, Chickenpox, Hep A & Shingles
RA 27-3: Human Kidney, 6 weeks old, used in the Rubella & MMR
PER-C6: Human Retina, 18 weeks old, used in the development of Ebola & Covid
IMR-90: Lung from a 16 week old fetus; to replace the WI-38 line
WALVAX-2: Lung from a 3 month old fetus; to replace the WI-38 and MRC-5 line
Dementia is a serious brain disorder that interferes with a person's ability to think, plan, communicate, interact properly with others, or otherwise carry out everyday tasks. Because dementia is usually progressive, early signs may be vague and subtle. What to look out for: https://t.co/h2XG6JZ6C0
Your brain is one of the most metabolically active organs in your body. Every thought, memory, and decision depends on a constant supply of the right nutrients.
That's why what you eat matters.
Foods rich in omega-3 fats, choline, antioxidants, polyphenols, and essential micronutrients help support healthy brain function, protect neurons from oxidative stress, and provide the building blocks your brain needs to perform at its best.
Some of my favorite brain-supporting foods include:
- Wild-caught salmon for omega-3s
- Eggs for choline
- Blueberries for antioxidant support
- Leafy greens for essential vitamins and minerals
- Avocados for healthy fats
- Walnuts for healthy fats and polyphenols
