🇺🇦🇪🇺🇧🇪 We will always support Ukraine. For as long as it takes. It has always been our driver, and it will always be.

We, Europeans, send today a strong signal to Ukraine, to Russia and to the rest of the world. The signal that the EU stands by its allies. The signal that the EU is ready to make substantial financial commitments to that end. With this decision, we can ensure that Ukraine receives the financial support it needs in the two upcoming years, for its military and civil needs. And Russia’s assets must remain immobilised until Russia ceases its war of aggression against Ukraine and compensates it for the damage caused by its war.

Belgium has consistently called for a sustainable solution. Legally robust, financially safe. A solution with predictable parameters. Avoiding unprecedented and unreasonable risks. This is the solution we have found today. I commend my Prime Minister for his instrumental role in achieving this result, alongside and together with our diplomatic teams.

(EN/FR/NL) 🇺🇦 Today in Rome, at the Ukraine Recovery Conference, Belgium made a clear promise: we will stand with Ukraine. In resistance, in resilience, and in reconstruction.

That is why Belgium is taking action. With six new agreements signed today, our agency for international cooperation @Enabel_Belgium and our investment institution @BIO_Investments will help rebuild hospitals, power schools, restore energy, and support small businesses, the heartbeat of the Ukrainian economy.

Because every Ukrainian child deserves to grow up in peace, in their own land, with hope for tomorrow.

Aujourd’hui à Rome, lors de la Conférence sur la reconstruction de l’Ukraine, la Belgique a réaffirmé un engagement clair : nous serons aux côtés de l’Ukraine. Dans sa résistance, sa résilience et sa reconstruction.

C’est pourquoi la Belgique passe à l’action. Avec six nouveaux accords signés ce jour, notre agence de coopération internationale Enabel et notre institution d’investissement BIO-Invest contribueront à reconstruire des hôpitaux, alimenter des écoles, restaurer l’énergie et soutenir les petites entreprises, le cœur battant de l’économie ukrainienne.

Vandaag in Rome, tijdens de conferentie voor de wederopbouw van Oekraïne, deed België een heldere belofte: we blijven aan de zijde van Oekraïne. In verzet, in veerkracht en in wederopbouw.

Daarom komt België in actie. 🇪🇺🇺🇦 (EN/FR) On this Europe Day, I stood in Lviv with humility and deep emotion. A city scarred by history, but alive with hope. A city that today embodies the spirit of Europe more than ever.

At Mars Field Memorial, we paid tribute to the fallen defenders of Ukraine. Young men and women who gave their lives so that their country – and our continent – could remain free. Their courage commands our respect. Their sacrifice must never be forgotten.

Raising the European flag alongside the Ukrainian flag was far more than symbolic. It was a solemn promise. A promise that Ukraine’s place is in Europe. That its future is our future. That the values Ukrainians fight for – freedom, democracy, dignity – are the values we must all defend, every single day.

We visited the Superhumans Center, a place of extraordinary resilience, where those who lost limbs in this brutal war begin the long road to recovery. Their strength is the strength of Ukraine: unbreakable, proud, and deeply human. The work done here is not just medical. It is moral. It restores dignity, rebuilds lives, and gives hope.

To the youth of Ukraine, to the generation of Maidan, to those who dream of a better tomorrow even as sirens sound around them: you are not alone. You carry the flame of Europe. And we are with you, with our hearts, with our words, and with our actions.

Belgium will stand with Ukraine, today, tomorrow, and for as long as it takes. Not only with weapons and aid, but with faith in your strength, and in your European destiny.

En cette journée de l'Europe, c'est avec humilité et une profonde émotion que je me suis rendu à Lviv. Une ville marquée par l'histoire, mais pleine d'espoir. Une ville qui incarne aujourd'hui plus que jamais l'esprit de l'Europe.

Au mémorial de Mars Field, nous avons rendu hommage aux défenseurs de l'Ukraine tombés au combat. Des jeunes hommes et femmes qui ont donné leur vie pour que leur pays - et notre continent - reste libre. Leur courage impose notre respect. Leur sacrifice ne doit jamais être oublié.

Lever le drapeau européen aux côtés du drapeau ukrainien était bien plus qu'un symbole. C'était une promesse solennelle. Une promesse que la place de l'Ukraine est en Europe. Que son avenir est notre avenir. Que les valeurs pour lesquelles les Ukrainiens se battent - liberté, démocratie, dignité - sont les valeurs que nous devons tous défendre, chaque jour.

Nous avons visité le Superhumans Center, un lieu d'une extraordinaire résilience, où ceux qui ont perdu des membres dans cette guerre brutale entament le long chemin de la guérison. Leur force est à l'image de l'Ukraine : inébranlable, fière et profondément humaine. Le travail effectué ici n'est pas seulement médical. Il est moral. Il rétablit la dignité, reconstruit des vies et donne de l'espoir.

À la jeunesse ukrainienne, à la génération de Maidan, à ceux qui rêvent d'un avenir meilleur alors même que les sirènes retentissent autour d'eux : vous n'êtes pas seuls. Vous portez la flamme de l'Europe. Et nous sommes avec vous, avec nos cœurs, avec nos mots et avec nos actions.

La Belgique sera aux côtés de l'Ukraine, aujourd'hui, demain et aussi longtemps qu'il le faudra. Non seulement avec des armes et de l'aide, mais aussi avec la foi en votre force et en votre destinée européenne.

(EN/FR/NL) 🇺🇦 This Easter, as many of us spend time with loved ones, I’m making this post to remind the world : thousands of Ukrainian children are still missing - stolen by Russia, torn from their families, their homes and their identity. The Ukrainian children have been dispersed across remote Russian regions, often placed for adoption in Russian families and institutions far from their homes. This is a systematic attempt to erase who they are and turn them into tools of future aggression. The return of all Ukrainian children taken by Russia must be a non-negotiable element of the ongoing peace process. There can be no just and lasting peace without these children returning to their homes, families and communities. #ChildrenAreNonNegotiable @BringKidsBackUA

En cette période de Pâques, alors que beaucoup d'entre nous passent du temps avec leurs proches, je fais ce post pour rappeler au monde que des milliers d'enfants ukrainiens sont toujours portés disparus - volés par la Russie, arrachés à leurs familles, à leurs maisons et à leur identité. Les enfants ukrainiens ont été dispersés dans des régions russes éloignées, souvent placés pour adoption dans des familles et des institutions russes loin de chez eux. Il s'agit d'une tentative systématique d'effacer leur identité et de les transformer en outils pour une future agression. Le retour de tous les enfants ukrainiens enlevés par la Russie doit être un élément non négociable du processus de paix en cours. Il ne peut y avoir de paix juste et durable sans le retour de ces enfants dans leurs foyers, leurs familles et leurs communautés.

Deze Pasen, wanneer velen van ons tijd doorbrengen met hun dierbaren, maak ik deze post om de wereld eraan te herinneren dat duizenden Oekraïense kinderen nog steeds vermist zijn - gestolen door Rusland, weggerukt van hun familie, hun thuis en hun identiteit. De Oekraïense kinderen zijn verspreid over afgelegen Russische regio's, vaak voor adoptie ondergebracht bij Russische families en instellingen ver van hun thuis. Dit is een systematische poging om uit te wissen wie ze zijn en ze te veranderen in werktuigen voor toekomstige agressie. De terugkeer van alle Oekraïense kinderen die door Rusland zijn meegenomen moet een niet-onderhandelbaar element zijn van het lopende vredesproces. Er kan geen rechtvaardige en duurzame vrede zijn zonder de terugkeer van deze kinderen naar hun huizen, families en gemeenschappen.
