So, you’re saying your idols came up with the idea first, and SB19 just conveniently took it from them??? Ohhh, is that the story now?
Oh, come on. 😂
Well this video from March 14, 2026 says otherwise. Oh even before this most recent one, there were already numerous articles and interviews where SB19 openly talked about their views, advocacy, and goals for Filipino artists and the creative industry. This wasn’t something they suddenly came up with yesterday.
In this you can already hear SB19 clearly articulating their advocacy and what they wanted to achieve. Pablo even said that this was something they had envisioned from the very beginning. He also talked about attending a symposium at UP, where he got inspired and learned more about how South Korea supports and preserves its arts and culture. That experience gave him ideas about what could potentially be done for Filipino creatives.
And listen to Josh too. He said that he loves the Philippines and would find a way to make something happen.
Well, they did.
And they didn’t just walk into the Senate with an idea and expect someone else to figure out the details. Josh took the time to research the issue first, understand the existing systems, and study what could potentially be adapted to the Philippine creative industry before presenting the proposal to Senator Bam Aquino.
Months later, they brought the P.A.C.E. Act, or Philippine Agency for the Creative Economy Act, to Senator Bam Aquino, and the proposal was presented in the Senate session on September 28, 2026.
That timeline matters.
The vision came first. The research followed. Then came the proposal and the effort to turn that vision into something institutional.
This wasn’t simply an idea they picked up because it became fashionable or a statement made for publicity. They had been talking about the need for stronger support for Filipino creatives, then took the time to understand the issue and explore a concrete way forward.
And the potential impact goes beyond artists themselves. A stronger creative economy can mean more opportunities for Filipino musicians, filmmakers, designers, writers, producers, technicians, and other creative workers, while also creating jobs, generating economic activity, attracting partnerships, and bringing Filipino culture and talent into more international markets.
That’s the difference between simply talking about advocacy and actually doing the work behind it.
SB19 doesn’t just say they want change. They study, they prepare, they engage with people who can help make that change possible, and they take concrete steps toward turning their vision into action.
Their success gave them a platform, but their preparation gave their advocacy substance.
They didn’t suddenly discover this responsibility after becoming successful. They carried the vision long before the world was paying attention. Now that they have the reach to be heard, they’re using it to help build a stronger ecosystem for Filipino creativity.
And that’s why this is bigger than SB19.
It’s not just about five Filipino artists reaching the world. It’s about using that journey to help make the path wider for the creatives who will come after them, while showing that Filipino creativity can be both a source of cultural pride and a meaningful part of our economy.
