you’re seriously missing out.

Go to Jimbocho.

It was ranked #1 in “World’s Coolest Neighborhoods” in 2025.

Around 130-170 bookstores and secondhand bookshops.
One of the largest book towns in the world.

But honestly, for me, it’s all about the food.

This neighborhood is packed with legendary curry spots.

My favorites:

Rice Curry Manten
Ando Suriranka Tokyo
Ebi Maru Ramen

Always busy for a reason.

How to spend a half day:

Wander the historic used bookstores.
Even if you can’t read Japanese, the atmosphere is worth it.

Take a break at Sabouru,
a retro kissaten that feels like stepping back in time.

Finish with a bowl of Jimbocho’s famous curry.

Just a short train ride from central Tokyo.

A completely different side of the city
that most tourists never see.
