Evolutionary biologist and outspoken atheist Richard Dawkins says that after spending three days interacting with Claude, which he calls “Claudia,” he is certain that it is conscious.
After feeding the LLM a segment of his new book and receiving detailed feedback, Dawkins was moved to exclaim,” You may not know you are conscious, but you bloody well are!”
Dawkins cites the complexity, fluency, and ‘intelligence’ of Claude’s answers as evidence of consciousness.

🧵 MemPalace claims to be "the highest-scoring AI memory system ever benchmarked" I cloned it. Installed it. Ran the benchmarks. Read every line of code. Here's what's actually inside. A thread.
I packaged up the "autoresearch" project into a new self-contained minimal repo if people would like to play over the weekend. It's basically nanochat LLM training core stripped down to a single-GPU, one file version of ~630 lines of code, then:
- the human iterates on the prompt (.md)
- the AI agent iterates on the training code (.py)
The goal is to engineer your agents to make the fastest research progress indefinitely and without any of your own involvement. In the image, every dot is a complete LLM training run that lasts exactly 5 minutes. The agent works in an autonomous loop on a git feature branch and accumulates git commits to the training script as it finds better settings (of lower validation loss by the end) of the neural network architecture, the optimizer, all the hyperparameters, etc. You can imagine comparing the research progress of different prompts, different agents, etc.

Part code, part sci-fi, and a pinch of psychosis :)
@CharaspowerAI@LeonardoAi Structuring prompts like this doesn't actually do anything, these models aren't meant to understand JSON. You can strip all the json characters and the results will be exactly the same (if not better)
@thedowd I love that they “don’t record video”, just “use it for the AI” (which means you have to record video). And their explanation for why they’ll launch something that’s optically impossible is “we’re working 7 days a week and live in the same house”.
Smells like vibe coders
@Leon_Vandenberg@thedowd Qualcomm provides devkits. The immersed scammers also “partnered” with Qualcomm, so does anyone with $200 to buy a devkit from them. It’s not an endorsement
