It’s been fascinating to watch Europeans run around America while here for the World Cup.
They’re eating Texas barbecue, and touring state parks, like it’s a lifelong dream.
And we take it all for granted.
Americans spend so much time arguing with each other, that we forget how inspiring this country is.
Probably by design.
My @X feed is filling up with @FIFAWorldCup fans realizing the greatness of the American experience. So many blown away by how beautiful and amazing our nation is and how wonderful the people are. It is completely different than the narrative they are fed through their media.
Watching @FreddyLA7 the German World Cup fan road trip through the South and discover actual America has been one of my favorite things online.
Waffle House hash browns. Buc-ee’s snack aisles. Auburn’s stadium. River tubing. Fairhope sunsets. Random small towns that look like movie sets if you actually slow down long enough to notice them.
People fly here thinking America is New York, LA, Vegas, and Disney.
Then they end up somewhere in Georgia, Tennessee, or Alabama and realize the whole country is way weirder, prettier, friendlier, and more interesting than they were told.
That is the America I love watching people find.
Willy Rice just preached one of the most prophetic and prescient sermons ever delivered at an SBC Pastor's Conference, based on Saul's compromise in 1 Samuel 14-15.
Here is a brief clip, with the full version below.
@ClayTravis The @MLB home market rules are ridiculous! I live in Indy but am considered in the @Reds@whitesox & @Cubs market. No big deal until my @tigers play one of those teams. Then the games are blacked out on the @MLBTV package. If you have the MLB package there should be no blackouts!

@Indy_reporter_@GovBraun Translation: Gov. Braun rose above petty politics from Mayor McDermott because he cares about what is best for the state! Well done, Governor!
@chad_isaac@MVJUDGE99 Like I said, you may want to brush up on the rule. The tag attempt began the moment he had the ball and started running towards him. The swipe is actually irrelevant to the "attempt."
@chad_isaac@MVJUDGE99 You may want to brush up on the definition of what a tag is.... it is rule 5.09(b)(1)... He certainly made an attempt to tag according to the rule book.

There is zero moral difference between the Aztec who murders a born child to make the sun rise and the American who murders a preborn child because they hate responsibility.
