All healthy full sized hedgehogs have hibernated now. They do this because their natural food - caterpillars and beetles - aren't around in the winter.
If they didn't hibernate they would die of starvation or of parasite invasion (from being forced through extreme hunger to eat slugs, which contain deadly lungworm).

But some hedgehogs were born too late to have grown full sized yet.
Some aren't completely healthy (even a little ringworm, quite harmless in an active hedgehog, would quickly overwhelm one in a state of hibernation).

These hedgehogs can't attempt hibernation and, as there's no natural food around, they will starve or get very sick if they don't find a kind garden.
So please be that kind garden.
Dry kitten food that has meat as the first listed ingredient is the perfect food for hedgehogs.
Leaving out a dish, alongside a dish of water, will save lives.
A simple saucer on the top will stop mice and slugs and cats from accessing the food, and will keep it safe for the hedgehogs.
Checking that food each morning will be the nicest 2 minutes of your day: knowing you are actually doing something to make the world a better place.
And the morning you find the food taken, that you've saved a life, will be the best 2 minutes of your year.🥰
