@Teamgrassroots_ Disgraceful behaviour is far too regular! My 9 year old has been called horrible words by opposition caoches and parents! It needs stop but I think to come from the top! It’s every weekend in the premier league on TV glorifying disgraceful behaviour
@Keir_Starmer@britishchambers Planning reform is often talked about but there needs to be an actual mechanism for “reform”! Properly funded, well resourced, fully staffed planning departments that can actually engage with ALL stakeholders EARLY is key!
@peterproperty extensions of time agreements are being abused by the system! More LPAs should allow the SOS to see how much they are struggling with workload! Maybe then planning departments would be properly funded and resourced!
@jonnye47 It sets such a terrible example! My 8-year old’s team who are learning the game and need coaching had “silent sidelines” no coach or parent input at one of their matches only to watch their hero’s on TV behave like this and see managers screaming at officials
@planitpres @RTPIPlanners @VictoriaRTPI I agree with this unreservedly! I was recently told “planners are the new accountants” nobody wants you at a dinner party?! Why????
This might explain a few things! I keep banging this drum but all the planning reforms in the world aren’t going to “streamline” the process or fix the problem #planning#funding
Local Authority net expenditure on planning has fallen by 43%, from £844m in 2009/10 to £480m in 2020/21. This amounts to just 0.45% of local government budgets allocated to planning services: https://t.co/zS5cKu4xvc
@Psythor My bugbear as a planner is when people call every piece of green space “green belt” it’s so widely used I’ve even heard this from planning professionals do this!
