England just collapsed against Argentina. I can’t believe it. They needed to attack until the end. Not sure what they were thinking.

Really disappointed.

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@kpj_comp @NejcFurh The Norway keeper made a terrible mistake in overtime. He gave up Englands second goal by bobbling the ball.

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@JONNY_RUBBER @NejcFurh But it doesn’t look like it touches anything.

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@ThomasH_Synth @NejcFurh It doesn’t hit the wire.

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@n1ch0lasgurr @EmilSkandul Really unclear what happened, not at all convinced that the camera hit the cable.

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@haz0a @EmilSkandul In a stadium with hi def cameras everywhere all we see are grainy and pixelated videos. Still doesn’t look like the ball hit anything.

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@Ollymurspri @EmilSkandul Still can’t see the ball hitting anything. Just looks like spin from this angle. Much todo over nothing

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

lol, still don’t see the ball graze a wire. Players complain after almost any goal. Should the ref have taken away Norways first goal because the English players complained. Post VAR World Cup is not less fair than previous World Cups. There are always horrible officiating mistakes. See England vs Germany in 2010.

[Henry Winter @henrywinter]

Just done a couple of broadcast interviews and been asked whether there was any tension in the England camp over the post-match interviews at Miami Stadium. No. Firstly, players inhabit a bubble largely away from furious online debates. Secondly, players spoke publicly last week, especially on the back of the Stones/Rice wind-up on Tuchel in the Azteca, of their liking for him, and his emotional intelligence.

Thirdly, players know that anything Tuchel says about improvements is obviously for the best. He’s driving standards. Fourthly, England players all know how close they are to achieving something historic and nothing will distract them from that mission. Fifthly, if anybody is upset about a few home truths then they shouldn't be in an elite dressing-room.

At points in England’s past, managers have tip-toed around issues. Not Tuchel. He identifies a problem, devises a way to address it during the match and then mentions it openly afterwards. He’s honest. He has a demanding, winning mindset. Like Jude Bellingham.

It’s why England have a chance of beating Argentina. The elite mindset of Tuchel, Bellingham, Harry Kane and others. Challenging each other, driving them all on in a week that could define their lives and legacy. #ENG #FIFAWorldCup

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

They’re not “shit” at it. The most talented team doesn’t always win. I find it kind of embarrassing that American teams declare themselves world champions in their domestic leagues. Very cringe. At least domestic English teams win Champs League titles. Anyway, I’m cheering for England.

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@nortonbreads @Priceless_MCI Very mean🥲
A single player doesn’t lose a game like that.

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@andruyeung Cozy brutalism?

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@PepGuardiolan @Callum_TH Still don’t see it. All footage I’ve seen is incredibly low def, pixelated, or at an ambiguous angle.

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@lpfjenrich @GrantR_1867 I don’t think that they stole the cup. At least they didn’t lose on their home turf 7-1.

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@RaminNasibov It needs a crest in the shape of a barcode.

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@csett13 Hopefully Tuchel will impart the German tournament team mentality. Play soley to win!

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@BBCSport Argentina have gon into overtime twice. England only once.

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@G3452691420991G @Capt_Fishpaste *Ahem*

[Hexagon Brief @hexagonbrief]

@PKSHVS @Capt_Fishpaste All World Cups are full of controversy. Did you see the England vs Germany Goal?
