500 users in 30 days.
No growth team. No big ad budget. No fancy funnel.
Just launched LeadOcean, talked to users, fixed things, and kept shipping.
The numbers:
→ 500 signups
→ 377 API users
→ 362 MCP users
→ 107 from LinkedIn
→ 52 from cold email
→ 45 from Google
But here's what surprised me.
Some users struggled to find 100 leads.
With a better prompt, they found thousands.
Same database. Same product. Different outcome.
Everyone talks about distribution.
But getting users is a distribution problem. Getting them to value is a product problem.
And 500 signups mean nothing if nobody sticks around.
Still fixing data quality, onboarding, and paid conversion.
Not celebrating victory.
Back to building. 🚀
@its_ronc Yes, prompting is something our new users always have issues getting good results. I am thinking to release some skills to help them find better leads.
Last time I offered this, 147 people asked for it.
So I’m doing it again, with one change. 👀
I’ll build your full TAM (Total Addressable Market) for free.
The actual list, not just the number.
I’m opening a few free TAM builds to show what LeadOcean can actually find from a real ICP.
Describe your target market in one sentence.
Example:
“US B2B SaaS companies with 10–200 employees, targeting VP Sales and Head of GTM.”
I’ll give you:
→ Matching companies
→ Matching decision-makers
→ Verified work emails
→ Phone numbers where we have them
→ Coverage by country, so you see your real market size
You’ll get a full downloadable CSV or Google Sheet link.
No signup.
No credits.
No sales call.
Just the list. Free.
@abhagsain@noahkagan That’s other way to look into it. But for us was kind of free distribution. Just applied and listed and sales coming in. Getting exposure and getting bookings for way bigger contracts
Every data vendor tells you how many profiles they have.
Almost none tell you how many are in your country. 👀
Global numbers are easy to brag about. 693M profiles sounds great until you only sell into Germany 🇩🇪, or Brazil 🇧🇷, or the Nordics, and realise you have no idea how much of that number is actually your market. And even when the profiles are there, the real question is how many come with an email you can send to, or a phone number that works.
Usually you find that out after you’ve paid. 🙃
So we built a coverage view inside LeadOcean. Pick a region or a country and you see three things before you spend anything: how many profiles we have there, what share has a verified work email, and what share has a phone number.
It’s not always flattering 😂 Some countries are strong. Some have plenty of profiles but thinner email coverage, and you’ll see that too. I’d rather you know that on day one than find out from your bounce rate on day thirty.
It’s the same reason we cut 100 million emails from our verified pool a few weeks ago. A big number only helps you if it’s true for the market you’re actually selling into.
If you sell outside the US, I’m curious: which country has been hardest for you to get good data on? 🌍👇
