@yungmetronome@thatcityfeeling I grew up on the south shore, and now in westchester. To me, the ocean is hard to replace. Ultimately I guess it comes down to preference - low supply and enough demand for that aesthetic.
@yungmetronome@thatcityfeeling Nature there is still largely untouched. The chokepoint of the roads makes it less crowded outside of summer weekends. Montauk in October is a special experience, for many superior to NJ/CT.
Underrated things about NJ -
1) NJ is deeply, deeply unpretentious. It filters out pinkies up people better than anywhere else in the country.
2) NJ is hilarious. My least funny friend in high school is top 1% funny any other place in the country.
3) Food in NJ is amazing. Especially in the suburbs. Strip mall meals in NJ mog just about any other suburban cuisine in the country.
