Being Tyler Robinson's public defender is an act of courage. In this environment she is likely to expose herself and her family to merciless threats and attacks. All of us who do criminal defense need to stand with her shoulder to shoulder as she does this important work.
It is immensely rare that I can get someone’s trespass case dropped on the grounds that they are severely mentally ill— very often they must go through this process of forced hospitalization and then plea or trial. No one is out here just letting people accused of murder go.
having my day derailed by an emergency 2 hour jail visit wasn’t ideal but sometimes hard things remind me why public defense is important to me 🥺 (and should be to everyone else)
Charlie told his mom in a phone call that he knew the guilty verdict bc they didn't let him put on his tie & he was brought in shackled. Donna being shackled should have figured the same.
