I say this as a parent, if you are on the bus with your pram and a wheelchair user comes on, you need to make space or get off. And as bystanders we should feel confident enough to tell people this to avoid wheelchair users having to deal with ts on their own.
I actually feel quite emotional about our leaders are finally talking about proper reform of social care, after so many different governments completely ignored the issue (with the exception of a short-lived, ill-fated proposal from Theresa May). Those of us who have seen first-hand how broken the current system is have been trying to highlight it for years but consecutive prime ministers, chancellors and health secretaries didn’t want to know. No longer.
One of England's all-time greatest captains, Ben Stokes, has decided to retire from international cricket at the end of this Test match.
Ben, you have been the most inspirational captain, leader and legend this team could have ever hoped for.
We love you so much and wish you all the best in your retirement ❤️
England will never be the same again.
IPSA claimed rising workloads justify a 5% increase for MPs, yet offers only an optional 3.5% uplift for staff.
That gap isn’t just unfair, it’s untenable given the realities on the ground.
Staff deserve better.
There’s only one reason I’m at the Spectator awards…
To see my Queen @MarieTidball win Parliamentarian of the year!
Congratulations Marie - a powerhouse and an inspiration ✨❤️

I'm obsessed with the verbs for cricket shots and how we instantly know how hard the ball was hit and where it went. Squeezed, smoked, creamed, pinged, nudged; all stories unto themselves.
Thanks to @norcrosscricket, @henrymoeranBBC & @psixaba for this:

Labour MP @MarieTidball delivers a powerful speech:
“It is with a heavy broken heart that I will be voting against this bill today.
“As a matter of conscience, I need my constituents to know I cannot support the proposed changes to PIP as currently drafted...”
"I've had people say to me, 'if my life was like yours I'd want to kill myself'"

An incredible experience to give evidence to MPs this week as part of an inquiry into the accessibility of Parliament for staff and visitors. 🗳️🎙️
Parliament should be setting the tone for access standards across society♿️
No better place to be on a Friday afternoon 🏏☀️
