This is the first time in the show we’ve seen the full potential of airbending in a fight.

Aang was a great airbender, but he was a pacifist and rarely used airbending to its full offensive power.

Zaheer was talented, but he didn’t have enough training nor time to become a master.

Tenzin was very skilled, easily the best of his generation, but still had some limitations.

Tagah was different. He was a true master who lived through war and violence, trained under an Avatar, earned his arrows, and knew ancient airbending techniques that were lost after the Air Nation massacre.

The other nations were lucky the Air Nomads were pacifists. If they had chosen violence and war, they would’ve been an absolute nightmare to fight against.
