During the 43rd Annual General Meeting of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Jos, I expressed my commitment to transforming Plateau into an inclusive and desirable home for all citizens, regardless of their tribe or religion.

I emphasized that Plateau will maintain its reputation as a place of peace and a thriving tourist destination. Despite efforts to discredit our state, I assured everyone that these challenges will soon be overcome. With divine assistance, my administration is dedicated to rescuing our state and ensuring that it remains a welcoming place for every Nigerian, irrespective of their ethnic background or religious beliefs.

I was present at the opening session of the Governorship election petition tribunal in Jos, where the petitioners raised concerns regarding the people’s overwhelming choice and the PDP’s decisive win in the Governorship election held on March 18, 2023.

My team and I are determined to prove the legitimacy and credibility of the electoral process that has restored hope to the Plateau people.

During the Democracy Day celebration event in Jos, I revealed to the public the state's financial situation. The previous administration, headed by Simon Lalong, left behind an enormous debt burden of N11 billion in unpaid salaries for workers.

I addressed the citizens and expressed my concern over the state's deviation from the right path in previous years. I emphasized the need to steer the state back on track and acknowledged the immense work that lies ahead. the workers' salaries for February 2023, totaling N2.9 billion, were severely neglected by the past administration, with only N900 million being paid.

Concerning the killings of innocent people and the fresh attacks on communities on the Plateau, I convened with the heads of security agencies for them to carry out their constitutional responsibility of protecting and securing lives in rural communities in the state.

I buttressed for security to be deployed to areas where there is little or no security presence.
Those who have been arrested in connection with the killings and looting would be prosecuted and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are over.

I am Delighted to have General Shipi onboard as our special adviser for security and homeland safety.

We are particularly Lucky to have him come back and serve Plateau State. General Shipi came in highly recommended for his passion and professional competence to be able to organize our security assets.

The time is now to take back our land and secure the lives and properties of our people!

I wanted to take a moment to address the concerns and anxieties that have arisen regarding our state's security. It is completely understandable to feel apprehensive during these uncertain times, but I want to assure you that your safety and well-being remain our utmost priority.

As promised earlier, we have been engaging tirelessly with all relevant security outfits within and outside Plateau State to address the killings on the Plateau and We remain resolute in our commitment.

There has never been a time where our unity is more important than now! Understand that any attack against one of us is an attack against all of us. Let us all be vigilant and together we will triumph.
