@UNITE2DEFEND Given the conditions we raise them in with all these animals living in their own feces being pumped with antibiotics, is it really that surprising??
@offgridPorter To answer your question, most ethical vegans follow the definition laid out by the vegan society, which is basically to avoid exploiting animals as far as is possible and practicable. This considers those small animals you mentioned.
@LaurenInTheWild I don’t see your point? Veganism is based on necessity. If you can’t sustain yourself on a plant-based diet because of lack of resources, then that is totally reasonable according to veganism. However, that isn’t an excuse if you do have the resources because there is a victim.
@tipota123 @molesuk For one, sanctuaries exists, so they wouldn’t go extinct, but also there isn’t anything inherently wrong or bad about an animal species going extinct; in fact, it happens all the time.
@deane_ag @minimax_eth @vintagevegans They would and do still exist in sanctuaries, as pets, etc. Plus, if you’re perpetuating the suffering of animals for the sake of their existence, you’re very likely doing that for you and not them.
@_allhailseitan@veganphotoalbum @JoanneShacz Honestly, I thought most plant based people were vegans who didn’t want to stereotypes associated with vegans. That or just dietary vegan.
@_allhailseitan@veganphotoalbum @JoanneShacz No, I’m showing support for their plant based products. That doesn’t encourage them to torture more chickens.
@_allhailseitan @JoanneShacz @veganphotoalbum Like I said, I have my issues with peta, but we shouldn’t commit an ad hominem and disregard their argument completely. The animals don’t care where plant based options were cooked (unless it’s like lard or something).
