@Jennife10651535 Virtual hug during your tough time - distance yourself when you can and rest when you can and does he need a medical visit - if his mood has changed he may have an underlying infection

The 50s in UK
@lascapigliata8@DrJoFranklin@WingsEcosse@Jessica12uk I still remember my absolute anxiety in my first week of my surgical FY1 job ( then a house officer) 52 years ago as I met my first new patients after qualifying as a doctor - I had great team support but I agree it felt terrifying.
@abylurv So AI and increased technology was supposed to make our lives easier?
It hasn’t
It’s added unnecessary complexity to our lives and unnecessary data collection that will just live in the ether.
@trentconsultant@DrJoFranklin@jamesmurray_ldn Also no central understanding that all clinicians experience is different , all patients are different +repeating a history+ words used might chime with that difference - and that words on a screen are no substitute for demeanour , intuition, trust and empathy between 2 humans
@trentconsultant@DrJoFranklin@jamesmurray_ldn The world currently loves parsing binary solutions
What we need is one solution
Time
Time to listen to the patient’s history and feelings and time to look at an efficient past history and then examine the patient
@DoctorAngry Was walking along the canal towpath on Tuesday and thought I recognised the haircut of the woman in front of me - yes it was a previous patient last seen over 10 yrs ago - I said excuse me and she turned round saw me gave me a hug and brought me up to date with her family
@PamCarrotville@MRB_AI24 Insulting response
I ran late because appointments are unpredictable
Emergencies do happen
Some Patients need admitting to hospital ( took at least 30 mins to arrange )
People sometimes need time in personal crises
I always explained to the Waiting room what had happened
@jcbing@marksandspencer In my experience Clothing sizes have never been standardised……….always try on before buying and there are some shops I avoid because the cut has never been right. Over 60 years I have bought clothes from size 8-14 and I have not changed basic physique…….
