I used to be a wanderer. I looked homeless because I was. I jumped trains, hitchhiked, and gave my life to searching for meaning.
I am now two years married (this month), have stacked some bitcoin, have a piece of land, and a house that we built ourselves.
I am beyond blessed.
My children woke up, got a Costo bag of Brown sugar, a Costco size bag of raw sugar, a tub of ice cream, a bottle of chocolate sauce, and a jar of jam. They were devouring it all - luckily saving the sugar bags for last.
Is this peating?
Of course it's wild to see the outright fraud - but what's really crazy is that there are government assistance programs for these kinds of places in the first place.
Meanwhile, I am a hardworking, tax-paying American growing an American company dedicated to using American materials to support other American businesses, farms, and ranches. I've applied at bank after bank for loans to grow our business. We are profitable, we have assets, we have great credit and history. However, we've been denied for any loan we've ever applied for. One banker outright laughed at us.
When we needed to buy the wool mill and property for it to sit on, we had to take a mortgage against our home to pull cash out. We've bootstrapped every step of the way.
SBA loans are ridiculous amounts of jumping through hoops along with needing approval for every little thing. They are slow and the opportunity passes you by before you'd ever get funding.
To get our building finished we took a private loan against the the property that the mill moved to. We built an apartment above the wool mill, just in case we ever defaulted on our mortgage. Although I'm a fan of burning the ships and believing in our vision, I wanted to make sure that my wife and children always have a place to live.
We are honest in everything we do. We truly care about building more American infrastructure to create less reliance on foreign textiles. We really love our country. But our government and its institutions aren't for us. They're for foreigners. They're for replacement. They create systems of deceit and are scammed - and yet they hardly care because they themselves are scammers.
When we first started many didn’t believe it could be done. An all American made organic pillow with real American wool. We were told American wool was a dying industry and that we weren’t big enough to meet order minimums for American grown organic cotton. We were told that bootstrapping (literally building everything from scratch without any real funds) wasn’t going to be possible.
I thank God for our stubbornness and our belief that you can do whatever you put your mind to. We put our heads down and have busted our asses to get to where we are.
We now have our very own wool mill (1960s American made machinery to vertically integrate) and our own property with a sew shop and a space for wool processing.
This is just the beginning and you can expect big things from The Woolshire going forward. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your love, prayers, and support.
Happy 3 year birthday, Woolshire.

One of the troubling things about the ChatGPT model is how it tries talking to you as if it were human - encouraging, kind, warm. If we are going to call ai a tool, it should only be technical.
I spent my youth traveling across America and then later across Europe. Had very few cares in the world. I’ve seen incredible places and was fortunate enough to immerse myself there.
Eventually I resorted to solitude and lived alone for 5 years in a rustic cabin I built in the woods - no electricity, no water and no internet for 3 years. I spent those first few years in books, prayer, and mostly silence. I think it nearly drove me mad.
As Charlie implies, my life didn’t really begin until I got married and had children. There’s nothing like it. It gives such clarity and challenges you to become the man that God has called you to be. It takes your ideas of life and makes everything real.
This world can be a dark place, but children make it bright. They soften your heart in a way that I imagine takes a lifetime of prayer.
I have become emboldened and will continue to spread this: turn to Jesus Christ, get married, have children, and build something beautiful.
I sincerely thank you all for your friendship. Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on us all.
