When diesel is expensive, manufacturers either raise prices or reduce production. Transporters raise fares. Farmers pay more to move produce. Shops pass costs to consumers. The poor pay twice: once at the pump, then again at the market.

No matter what anyone says or does, the improvement in our team play and ball control goes a long way back to Amorim. Even if things didn’t fully work out, we clearly saw the system he implemented. Imagine Maguire now knowing how to hold the ball under pressure instead of rushing to just boot it away. The one-twos you’re seeing Cunha Bruno Cunha Bruno and Dorgu Bruno Dorgu Bruno that’s all his work. I’ll always be grateful to him for that foundation. This team only needs three or four more signings, and people will finally understand what a massive job Amorim did. That said, Carrick has surprised everyone including me. I never thought he’d beat Manchester City and Arsenal back to back. That’s not something you do easily. Kudos to him.

Here’s a simple, practical way to redistribute wealth effortlessly - straight from your pocket back to your own people: If you’re working in the city but your roots are in the village where family or neighbors still keep cows and till the land, stop buying Brookside milk. Period. Start buying milk from your own cows (or your uncle’s, cousin’s, or neighbor’s cows) back home. Over a year it will always be cheaper than the packaged stuff, even after transport. Get a decent fridge, buy cheap tamper-proof plastic bottles (they’re everywhere), have someone back home bottle the milk properly, then send it to you the same way Jiji or Kilimall sellers ship goods - by bus, matatu parcel services, or boda boda networks that already exist. Do the same with groceries. That idle shamba back home? Put it to work. Get the relatives or neighbors who are “just sitting” in the village to grow maize, beans, sukuma wiki, tomatoes, onions, potatoes - whatever you usually buy from the supermarket. You finance the seeds and inputs if needed, they do the farming, you become their guaranteed buyer at a fair price. Ship the produce to the city using the same cheap transport networks. Every month you’re no longer enriching shareholders and venture capitalists. You’re paying your own people directly. Their income rises, your cost of living drops, and the village economy gets oxygen. Break the supermarket spell. Your money should go home first.
