In the past few years Boeing have taken hits from all quarters. But no matter what you think, this is an astonishing image of a @flydubai aircraft that went well beyond its design limits (30,000 Ft per minute descent rate was reported, a normal rate is about 1500 ft per minute) and held together. That’s robust aviation engineering that Joe Sutter would have been very proud of, and Boeing should be too. Bravo to those off duty pilots who saved the day and landed the aircraft safely in Saudi Arabia.
A passenger who entered the cockpit during the attack aboard a flydubai flight to Israel told Netanyahu he pulled back on the controls to help stop the aircraft’s dive, adding that watching the television series “Air Crash Investigation” had helped him understand what to do.

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.
This may be the most incredible detail of the entire story.
Reuters has reported that the pilot who was stabbed aboard FlyDubai Flight FZ 1073 manually released the lock on the cockpit door while he was lying on the floor.
That pilot’s name is Captain Smit Machchhar.
FOX: “The wounded pilot, listen to this, covered with blood and lying on the floor, had clicked open the release of the cockpit door.”
“A second set of pilots on board who were due to replace the first pair, landed the plane.”
“A pilot who had just been stabbed, had the wherewithal to open that cockpit door. This man can be described as none other than a hero.”
That decision allowed the replacement pilots to reach the cockpit and take control of the aircraft.
His heroic actions likely saved the the lives of every passenger on board.
After 29 years of marriage, I can sum up my best advice in three words:
Just. Hang. On.
Before your marriage can thrive, it has to survive.
I promise you this:
All the good stuff is on the other side of whatever problem you’re facing. When you feel like giving up, that’s the time to double down.
Let’s think logically:
Nobody gets divorced during the good times. That means THE WHOLE BALL GAME is weathering the storms. And trust me, the storms will come.
Years ago, when my marriage was struggling, an older mentor told me something that stuck:
A great marriage is built, not found.
If your partner…
> Isn’t crazy (increasingly rare these days)
> Shares your core values
> Wants a great relationship
…then you’ve got all the building blocks you need. But you still have to BUILD. And just as importantly, STOP tearing down.
Try this simple hack for 30 days:
Each morning, say, “I have the best spouse in the world.”
Even if you’re not sure you believe it, say it anyway. Make it your mantra. Say it to your partner.
YOU GO FIRST. I bet you’ll be shocked at how they respond in kind.
Words have power. What you say shapes your beliefs, which inform your actions. It becomes self-fulfilling.
Burn the boats and go all in. There’s a massive difference between being 99% committed and 100% committed.
These days my wife and I talk all the time about how great a life we’ve built together. I shudder to think where I’d be if we didn’t hang on through the tough times.
Nearly three decades in, we’re still building. I encourage you to do the same.

2006: One in the nest, building.
2026: Empty nest, still building.
P.S. It goes without saying that “just hang on” doesn’t apply to abusive relationships.
For #Ebola, the risk of global spread is especially low. There have only been 31 cases documented outside Africa *ever* and of these only 3 (!) were secondary cases. To date, Uganda has never exported a case. To read more, see: https://t.co/EEh5XJG7ME

Airports really need gyms and showers. If I have a 3-hour layover, I’d rather get a workout in, stretch, shower, and walk onto the plane feeling fresh than sit around drinking overpriced airport coffee.
I said it before and I’ll say it again, if that man would’ve just married one woman he would’ve been so much richer. At some point chasing several women is so costly…buying 1000 Birkins a year. Lol
History made at Kabalega International Airport! ✈️🇺🇬
As Uganda prepares for historic first oil and co-hosting AFCON 2027, Kabalega International Airport has officially begun receiving passenger flights.
A Bombardier CRJ900 (5X-EQU) carrying CAF, FIFA, and AFCON Local Organising Committee officials landed at 9:00 AM. Additional Uganda Airlines charter flights carrying the Ugandan and Libyan national teams are scheduled to land ahead of Tuesday’s international clash.
Minister for Transpot and Works Fred Byamukama noted that fully operationalising the airport will drastically improve mobility and spur massive economic growth for the region.
