2) Our shortcomings do not alter the truth of God’s Word. They do however hinder our prophetic witness, cause fissures in the body and create a stumbling block for those who would believe.

Christ followers are all hypocrites to some extent. Always have been always will be. At times we disobey the scripture we claim to live by and misrepresent the Jesus we claim to serve. It is His perfection and not ours that redeems us though.
