WATCHING—The U.S. State Department is monitoring a reportedly fatal case of "pneumonia of an unknown etiology" linked to a plague research laboratory in Russia. Health authorities in Russia's Irkutsk region launched anti-epidemic measures after an employee of a plague institute was diagnosed with "pneumonia of an unknown etiology”. The lab involved is the Anti-Plague Research Institute in Shelekhov, in southern Siberia, Russia. The statement comes after some Russian media and public figures reported a death potentially due to the plague and linked to a lab worker. Russian officials did not provide further details on the worker. Amid the investigation, some protective measures have been announced in the region. A mask mandate has been implemented at the Irkutsk Aluminum Plant in Shelekhov, according to the plant's director, Artem Fominykh.

🆘🆘 CODE RED – EMERGENCY PLEA FOR LITTLE BUDDY PUDDY, 12 YO, MALE🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿

➡️ Poor BUDDY PUDDY was IN QUEENS ACC and scheduled to be EUTHANIZED AT 5 PM ON 9/21/26. He was very sick with growing masses and needed more care and attention than shelter could provide💔😿🙏💔😿🙏

➡️ READY FOR RESCUE (RFR) stepped in and saved his life. He spent about a week with the vet hospital for intensive care and diagnostics. Sadly he was diagnosed with a large cancerous mass in his intestines. He is now on fospice until his quality of life declines. He has found a gentle place to land and will get all the love and care he needs and deserves.

Lily would benefit from a low stress environment and work up by a full service veterinary to determine the cause of her poor appetite. Lily has allowed for medical handling and solicits attention during her exams.

2. BAMBI - He is a sweet but nervous cat who is not eating consistently in shelter. We suspect this is due to severe periodontal disease and stress. He needs a dentistry with extractions and a low stress environment to recover. NOT EATING/APPETITE ISSUES ARE A DEATH SENTENCE IN THE SHELTER
