Short-eared owl in the Lake District. Just after this photo was taken it flew over to dive bomb us and shout at us. We were clearly getting too close to it's young. So we left it alone! @cumbriawildlife@Natures_Voice
@Welshsquirrels We are thinking of putting a rope bridge in our garden to give the squirrels a high level route around to prevent them from having to run the gauntlet of the local cats. Do you know how thick the rope needs to be?
'@brsquirrel We are thinking about putting up a rope bridge in our garden to give the squirrels a safe route through our garden without running the gauntlet of the local cats. Do you have any experience of what thickness of rope is needed?
I know that we have at least two different squirrel which come to our feeder in our garden. Here is the really handsome black back and white tip of tail feeding this morning (needs a snappier name!). @cumbriawildlife @brsquirrel
@Welshsquirrels I have just read your excellent book - Red Squirrels in my garden. I live in North Cumbria and have started having a daily visit from a red. I had lots of questions about reds - which were all answered by your book. Thanks!
@brsquirrel Managed to get a short video of the red squirrel which comes to our garden daily. It normally comes in the morning. So I was very surprised to see it at 19:30 last night! Managed to get my camera trap in place without disturbing it.
Our garden is buzzing with bees and bumblebees at the moment. We have an alder buckthorn tree which is in flower and covered in worker bumblebees and wasps. Is this an Early bumblebee (Bombus pratorum) worker? @B_Strawbridge@StevenFalk1#bumblebee#bees
@laurenlaverne Hi Lauren, normally I make fine furniture but because I can't meet with customers, get wood from suppliers or do deliveries I am building a new kitchen for our house! Here is a picture of one of the units being glued up.
